Joy to the World

I seem to be in the throes of either making Halloween or Christmas cards. This card is in the running as the Christmas card I'll send out this year.  I saw it in my mind and it came out just as I envisioned it!

This is a standard A2 sized card. I started with a dark blue base and cut a slightly smaller layer of 4 x 5" for the pale yellow underlayer.  Using the same cardstock as the base I used Frantic Stamper's Starfall Reverse Cut. Next I used Kraft cardstock and Frantic Stamper's new Bethlehem Edger. The "moon" was cut with iridescent glitter paper and a stitched circled die. Then I added Frantic Stamper's Three Wise Men Silhouette. Finally I used a die from Frantic Stamper's Elementals #1 set to cut a slot to highlight my sentiment. I further highlighted the sentiment using a gel pen. I love creating "scene" cards and this one is no different! Stop by franticstamper.com to see the latest die release.

Coloring Practice

I've colored so many images lately I've decided to actually use some of them. This image is a freebie from Jade Dragoone (sp).  I colored it with Copic markers and fussy cut. I dug into my paper stash and found this wonder paper from A We Are Memory Keepers kit and used bits of foil and glitter paper. I incorporated die cuts from my absolute favorite dies -- Frantic Stamper Elementals #1 (Basic shapes) and Elementals #8 (Arched Labels). The embossing folder is from Paper Studios and the heart shapes are punched with Fiskars and Martha Stewart. To add some additional texture I used foam squares and Tim Holtz "Barn Door" Distress Ink. The sentiment is a $1 wooden stamp from a big box store.

ho ho ho

Using my "go-to" sketch, this card went together super fast.

The image is from Sassy Studio designs and colored with Copic markers. I enhanced the "fur" with "Polar White" flowersoft. I added bling for her earring and very tiny cotton ball for the end of the hat. I also used a glitter pen on the belt buckle. I used one my favorite Spellbinders Nestabilities, "oval," to cut and emboss the image. Using foil paper I used one of the Frantic Stamper Inc. "stitched frame" from the Elementals #1 die set. I didn't have a stamp with the famous "ho, ho, ho" sentiment so instead made my own with Frantic Stamper Inc. "Mattie Thin Lower Case Alphabet." Adding foam dots was all that was left to add. Super easy and super cute.

Happy Holidays (Again)

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge! Our sponsor for this week's challenge is Rick St. Dennis

He has a wonderful shop chocked full of his fabulous digital designs. Our theme for this challenge is
CUTE CHRISTMAS
Visit the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode Challenge for more inspiration from the design team. Please follow all the directions when entering your own design to maximize your chances of winning. Before you go check out my creation for this challenge!

I used Rick's "Darci" digital image and colored her with Copic Markers. Using papers from my stash, I added die cuts from my absolutely favorite line of dies--Frantic Stamper Inc. The dies are Elementals #1 (09306), Petite Poinsettia (09284), Ivy Wreath (09282) and Happy Holidays (09293). Finally I added bling to highlight both the digi and the die cuts because after all, no card is complete without it!
