I made it back from Minnesota in one piece and just in time to post another Link Up For Pink card. I couldn't possibly miss an opportunity to use the Breast Cancer Fighter stamp from Kenny K. The layout is a loosely based on this week's sketch from The Sweet Stop.

Nine cards - Nine days

This is my ninth submission into the Link Up For Pink Linking Party. 

I found a three-piece set of Chromatix alcohol markers on clearance at Michael's. I tried them on her skin. They work just as well as the Copics but I don't know how many colors are available. I can add these three to my Copics, Prismacolor, Spectrum Noir, and Promakers! 

I used the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to make this a shaped card. I welded the ribbon from the Stand and Salute cartridge into the card shape. The scalloped oval was cut using a Sizzix die. The roses are also from the Art Philosophy cartridge. The branches were cut with a Martha Stewart punch while the sentiment was cut with a Dienamics pennant die. The large "pink" ribbon was cut from glitter paper and finally I added some bling from my stash.

Linking Up for Pink #8

Where is everybody? Link Up for Pink is such a worthy cause and all it costs is a little of your time! The rewards are immeasurable. Not only do you stand a chance of winning some fabulous prizes, you can also put a smile on someone's face by donating the cards to your local Women's Center, or in my case, to my oncologists office.

There are eight days left. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. Last year there were over 500 entries. I submitted the last card at the absolute deadline and also racked in some goodies. My real reward was when I took the cards to my oncologist. His assistant was so impressed and in their eyes I am a ROCKSTAR! What more could you ask for?

LUFP #5

This card catches me up and puts me on track to complete at least fourteen projects for the Link Up for Pink 3rd Annual Linky Party. This is a great cause and close to my heart because I am a breast cancer survivor along with my mom and her sister. I donate the cards to my oncologist's office who sends them out to patients that need a little "pick-me-up."

3rd Annual Link Up for Pink

It's time again for the 3rd Annual Link Up for Pink. Click on the link for more details.  This is a cause that is close to my heart because I was diagnosed with breast cancer on February 27, 2009. One in eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Mine was detected during my yearly mammogram and by the grace of God I am still here. Please remind family and friends of the importance of yearly mammograms. If you cannot afford one, check local clinics because at this time of year many offer free screening. If you are one that is opposed to the Obama health insurance initiative, think again. The low cost insurance plan that just went in to affect would afford the usually uninsured the opportunity to have the availability of such an important procedure easily available. The plan also puts to an end the practice of cancer survivors like myself being turned down for insurance or procedures because of "pre-existing" conditions! Spread the word. "Screening Saves Lives." I'm a little late getting my first card posted for LUFP. I'd love to surpass my goal of 30 cards from last year. I don't think that'll happen because I will be out of town for four days next week. I'm sure I can post at least 15. An average of one a day is certainly doable. Wish me luck. In the meantime why don't you "Link Up for Pink."
