Coffee is Always A Good Idea

It should be no secret that I love coffee. When I find coffee related digis I am beyond excited. I along with my mom, her sister, my sister and my niece love to sit around drink coffee and talk. This image was a Saturated Canary freebie! IKR. I colored her with Copic Markers. I chose this design paper because I wanted the card to have a vintage feel and the blue matched perfectly with her "denim" skirt. A Spellbinders Label die is peeking just outside of the matted image. The flowers are from my stash with the brown ones being cut using the Cricut Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things and was cut with a Dienamics Fish Tail die. I think I'm incapable of creating a card without adding bling so of course I had to add some.

Ribbon Die Cut

When I think of the ribbon symbol, I always think of breast cancer. While I am a breast cancer survivor, I also suffer from Sarcoidosis. I realized the ribbon Frantic Stamper Inc Large Support Ribbon die could be used to bring attention to any number of illnesses. The image from Saturated Canary can be used in much the same way!

Ode to 50 Shades of Grey

Just in time for the movie release...here's my Ode to 50 shades of Grey. It's also just in time for the Sassy Studio Design Progressive Challenge!

This card also gave me a chance to audition some of the new Frantic Stamper Inc dies. The design paper is from DCWV. I colored the image with Copic markers. I used the Frantic Stamper Inc Arrow Card Sketchers (set of nine dies) and Follow Your Dreams dies. I think both are perfect and make this card come to life. I added both pink and clear rhinestones for just a touch of additional sparkle.

Love Filled Heart

I love hearts and I love Valentine's Day. This card was fast and easy and was an opportunity to use different papers to highlight this fabulous Frantic Stamper Love Filled Heart die set. It was supposed to be Clean and Simple but...I guess that's not quite my style!

Paper A La Mode Gate Fold Card

Splitcoasters has a wonderful tutorial on how to properly make one.

I glad this theme came up because it helped me resolve a couple of issues I've been having with my card making. First I never knew of the additional element to keep the card closed and second I was able to finally figure out why most of my straight cuts are just a little bit off. After following the directions to the letter three times and each time my card didn't quite meet in the middle I was able to determine that my Martha Stewart paper cutter is 1/8" off! WTH?? I thought I'd been doing something wrong. Now that I know, I can adjust accordingly. Enjoy my card and be sure to stop by Paper A La Mode for more inspiration and to enter your own creation!

Coloring Practice

I've colored so many images lately I've decided to actually use some of them. This image is a freebie from Jade Dragoone (sp).  I colored it with Copic markers and fussy cut. I dug into my paper stash and found this wonder paper from A We Are Memory Keepers kit and used bits of foil and glitter paper. I incorporated die cuts from my absolute favorite dies -- Frantic Stamper Elementals #1 (Basic shapes) and Elementals #8 (Arched Labels). The embossing folder is from Paper Studios and the heart shapes are punched with Fiskars and Martha Stewart. To add some additional texture I used foam squares and Tim Holtz "Barn Door" Distress Ink. The sentiment is a $1 wooden stamp from a big box store.
