As if you didn't already know, today marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! As a three year survivor, I am very aware of the importance of yearly mammograms as well as seeing your physician whenever something doesn't fell quite right. Supposedly there are no symptoms..but I beg to differ.
Beginning about seven months before my diagnosis I persistently didn't "feel well." I was tired and feverish most of the time. Of course I self medicated and was able to fell "okay" several days out of the week only to have the not "feeling well" return. I also noticed that I was exercising regularly and while my clothes were fitting better, my number on the scale never changed. I ALWAYS lose weight when I exercise. All that is to say there may not be specific symptoms associated with breast cancer but there will be something! My mother and my aunt are both survivors and they both whole-heartedly agree.
This year I plan to donate 31 cards ( a card for everyday) to my oncologist's assistant. She likes to send to patients that might need a little "pick me up." I've donated in the past but never this amount. I have to post most, if not all, of those cards here. Wish me luck and take care of your breast health by scheduling your mammogram today!

Oh lovey, I so appreciate this post! My mother was a Breast Cancer survivor and yet it wasn't until she was diagnosed that I was informed how to check myself, and now I and my daughter both know what to do. Yet there doesn't seem to be much information out there. I'm certain that your post will alert more people to the dangers - thank you!!
