Another Sassy Studio Designs Sponsorship

Are you ready for another Sassy Studio Designs Sponsorship. Today SSD is sponsoring Craftymess. Craftymess is a UK based challenge blog. The challenge this week is "Ribbon and Lace." Stop by their blog and see what everyone is creating. You and tell them I sent you! Here's what I created:

Using the image "Sexy Bride Sassy", I colored here with Copics and Prismacolor pencils with OMS. Her veil, shoes and garter are colored with Copic Spica glitter pens. The paper is a jacquard satin finish paper which I embossed with the very popular Cuttlebug "swirls" embossing folder. Both the ribbon and lace are from my stash. I just had to use that particular ribbon because it so reminds me of a garter. I cut the background circle out of glitter paper and added the small pearl swirl for some added interest. Finally I stamped "It's Your Day" from a set of stamps I picked up at a local Dollar store. FYI if you plan to stamp on non-porous paper, be sure to use Staz-On permanant ink to prevent smearing.

Aud Sentiments - Bingo

There's one week left to enter the Aud Sentiments Bingo Challenge. Be sure to stop by the Aud Sentiments blog to see the creations from the rest of the DT members.

For my card I chose the first column with "Happy", ribbon and a die cut.

Happy is on the DP, a die cut circle behind the image and then took a little liberty and used twine instead of ribbon. The image is "Birthday Surprise" from Sassy Studio Designs and was colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Unfortunately, I think the image may have been retired. The balloons were made using a punch from the Paper Studios.

Sassy Studio Designs Sassy in the City Progressive Relay

Welcome to another stop on the Sassy Studio Designs Sassy in the City progressive relay. In celebration of 700 member over at Paper Craft Plant . Today's image is "Sassy Samantha" and she is channeling her inner "Liz Taylor."

The image was colored w/Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The papers are from my stash. The dress was paper pieced using DCWV Christmas and Winter glitter paper. It had to be hand traced because I didn't want to risk running the glitter paper through my printer. I used "Diamond" Stickles on her earrings and bracelet. The position of her hand lent itself well to a "necklace" I made out of  "Spool O' Beads." The three silver beads in the upper right corner are from the Recollection collection from Michaels. The punch is Martha Stewart, while the ribbon is "Spool O' Ribbon" available at most craft stores. I think the sentiment matches perfectly with the "Sex and the City" inspired collection.

Be sure to stop by Sassy Studo Designs to get all the details on the relay

Sassy Studio Designs Sponsorship

Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring Crafts4Eternity. The Crafts4Eternity challenge is "Shades of Coffee." So just think of all the shades coffee can be. Whether you like yours black or with lots and lots of cream, there are lots of shades inbetween.

I started out with "The White Queen" and colored her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I love Kraft cardstock and figured it would be perfect for the base card. I wanted to try my hand at using burlap on a card and this seemed a good opportunity to try it. I cut and piece and frayed the edges. Next I dug into my stash and came up with paper from Recollections from Michaels. I've cut and rolled up roses of all colors that I cut with the Cricut Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. I thought the brown ones would go perfectly. The branches were cut with a Martha Stewart punch. The gold doily was left over from a previous project while I found the animal print ribbon while digging for the Tim Holtz Adage Ticket. To add a little sparkle I punched a 1 1/2" circle from glitter paper from the DCWV Christmas and Winter glitter stack. I used a very small amount of Stickles on her hat band and very tiny bling at her throat and bodice just because I felt like something is missing without it!

Love to Create Guest Designer

Today DigiDarlaDesigns is sponsoring Love to Create  and Love to Create has chosen me as this week's guest designer! The challenge is "The colors of summer."

Although this card is mostly blue, doesn't is just scream Summer? The image is "butterfly wonder" and I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and OMS along with Copics. Then I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities die to cut and stencil the image. I used a new Martha Stewart "lace daisies" edge punch. I love adding dimension by adding sewing machine stitching. The tri-color embossed distress paper is actually a paint color card from Home Depot! Who'da thunk? I recently found a Fiskars cloud punch on sale and just had to have it. The cute face stamp is from Peachy Keen. The grosgrain ribbon is from my stash as are the blue "Skittles." The metal sentiment is from Making Memories. I added dimension to the card by adding foam dots to the cloud and the image. Finally I added a little sparkle by using Stickles on the grass and using Copic Spica glitter pens to the hair bows and overalls hardware and added a butterfly punched with a Martha Stewart punch out of glitter paper.

Be sure to visit both DigiDarlaDesigns and Love to Create.

DigiDarlaChallenge #116 - How do you stack up?

Good Monday morning! This week's DDC is "How do you layer up"? We want to see layers, layers, and more layers!

I used DigiDarla "Ashley w/Rose." I colored her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils w/OMS. I think I kept this card relatively simple as I didn't want to use layers just for the sake of using layers. The design paper is from the DCWV "Taj Mahal" stack. The solid papers are from my stash and I chose to use layers and colors that would best highlight my DP. The ribbon is from the Paper Studio. The chipboard sentiment is from Studio 112; the bling is from my stash. In all I'd say I have (including the card base) seven layers but if the ribbon and chipboard are counted I could make it nine! Be sure to stop by the DigiDarlaChallenge blog to seen what the rest of the DT has created.

Sassy Studio Designs Wedding Savenger Hunt

June has been an exciting month at Sassy Studio Designs and we want to make it even more exciting my having a "wedding savenger hunt" hop this weekend. Stop by Sassy Studio Designs for all the details.

You should have arrived here from Soma's blog. If not, click on the link to get back on track.

Meet Sexy Bride. I colored the image with Copics and highlighted her veil and shoes with the Copic Spica glitter pen. I used a satin finish "jacquard stripe" design paper. Next using paper from the DCWV Metallic stack I used the Cuttlebug "Swirls" embossing folder. On one long side of that same paper I used a Martha Stewart "lacey hearts" edge punch. I also used a Martha Stewart punch for the branches and the butterfly both being cut from a DCWV Christmas & Winter Glitter Matstick cardstock. The image was popped up with 1/4" thick foam dots. The chipboard sentiment is for "Studio 112" from Joanns. Not being one that "can leave well enough alone" I cut the wedding rings from the Cricut "Sweethearts" cartridge. The hearts are the punchouts from the Martha Stewart edge punch while the "filmstrip" is from Tim Holtz and the rice in the lower right corner is from my kitchen! Finally the organza ribbon is from my stash.

Your next stop on the hop trail should be our very talented DT member Kathy of Will Stamp for Wine. Don't forget to leave comments at every stop for a chance to win free digis. The list below is a listing of all the stops along the way.

Yee Haw Another Sassy Studio Sponsorship

It's time for another Sassy Studio Designs Sponsorship. Today Sassy Studios is sponsoring the
Love to Create Challenge blog. They are a weekly challenge blog that posts on Mondays. Be sure to stop by their site and say hello.

I hadn't made an easel card in a while so I started out with the base. The image was colored with Copics. The "sky," fence and grass where cut with my Cricut. The fence was embossed with a woodgrain Paper Studios folder. Then it was just a matter of inking the edges, adding Stickles to the grass and pressing on some hores-themed sticckers, pressing on some. I printed the image with the Xron design runnrer. Be sure to stop by Sassy Studios to see what the rest of the team has created.

Sentimental Sundays - Here's to you!

It's time again for another Sentimental Sundays challenge. Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps. They have a great variety of digital images of which Gus and Stella are my favorites!

This week the Sentimental Sundays challenge "For a special guy," with a bonus sketch by one of my very talented team members Nicole.

More and more I am using sketches and it sure is making my cardmaking faster. No more burning up valuable brain cells trying to pull an idea out of the sky! I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I highlighted his glasses and bottle with Glossy Accents. The paper is from DCWV. The metal sentiment is from my stash. The image was mat and popped up with foam dots. I'm so proud of myself for once again using brads. I seldom thI printed the sentiment with my Xyron Design Runner. A word of caution, if you are considering buying one, realize that the ink refills are $49.99. WTH! Had I known it when I purchased it, at Joanns on clearance, I would have thought twice. Not too keen on the idea of paying that much for a refill, I took the empty cartridge to my local office supply store and was able to talk them into refilling it to the tune of only $10!

Be sure to stop by the Sentimental Sundays to see the rest of the design teams creations!

Sassy Studio Sponsorship

Today Sassy Studios Designs is sponsoring a new challenge blog - Altered Elusions. Stop by Altered Elusions and show them some love. Their first fortnight challenge is "Anything goes." I absolutely love "anything goes" challenges.

I used "Valentine Honey" to create this fun card. I colored the image with Copics and Prismacolor pencils with OMw. I created the flower in her hair with a Fiskars small flower punch and bling. The background paper is from DCWV. I used a sheer organza ribbon and a satin ribbon for a subtle  dimensional element. Using a Spellbinders oval Nestabilities I added a border with my favorite Gelly Roll pen. FYI, if any of you are old enough to remember Gregg Shorthand, the border is just "mo" repeated over and over. I stamped and wet embossed the sentiment and added the cute "Margarita" brad from my stash. Finally the image is popped up with foam tape to give it added dimension. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Digi Darla Designer

That's right. I'm now a designer for Digi Darla's Challenge blog. If you haven't already you absolutely must see the designs. I love the variety. This week's challenge is tic-tac-toe. To start our term we were asked to create a card and it wasn't an easy task. Designing the card was a breeze but choosing only one of her fantatic images was not. Is having too many to choose from a bad thing?

I fnally settled on Sunbonnet Seamstress 2. I colored the image with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and OMS and paper-pieced the object she's sewing. The DP is from Recollections from Michaels. I used a Close To My Heart Stamp - C1442 Tailor Made - to stamp the background image. My sewing machine is always at the ready for outlining the mat as not a problem. I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities die to cute the scalloped oval frame. The buttons are from my stash and the sewing needle is the real thing. I added two different thickness of foam dots to add dimension and gems for bling. The sentiment was printed from my computer. Be sure to stop by the DigiDarla Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT created.

Sentimental Sundays#105 - Happy Birthday 2 U

Happy Sunday. It's time for another Sentimental Sundays challenge. This week's sponsor is Doodle Pantry.

The challenge this week is "Show us your spots," with a bonus sketch challenge as well.

Be sure to stop by Sentimental Sundays to see what the rest of the DT has created.

This week I used an image from Tickled Pink Stamps. I love the Lil Pinkettes and this week chose Lil Birthday Pinkette Faith. I colored her with Copics because of the detail in the image. With the brush tip of the Copics, I was able to color in all of Faith's details. I used a Spellbinder Nestabilities circle and die to cut, emboss and stencil to additionally accentuate the image.

Keeping with the "Show us your spots" theme, I chose DP from my stash with a colorway that reminded me of summer. All papers are from Recollections from Michaels. I used foam dots to add dimension. The number "2" was also popped up with faux stitching added with a white Gelly Roll pen. The "U" is from a package of wooden embellishments from Hobby Lobby. I feel a card is almost never complete with out some kind of bling so of course I added swirl bling.
