Anything Goes

The Greeting Farm, Farm Fresh Challenge this week is "Anything Goes." I created this tag with one of their digital images. Tags are so much fun to make because they only require small amounts of paper and embellishments and can usually be finished quickly.

I cut the tag out using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and my Cricut Expression. I colored the image with colored pencils and OMS. The background paper is literally a scrap that was just laying on my crafting table (aka as my dining room table)! The small piece of lace and the faux stitching, made with a Gelly Roll pen, adds interest and texture. If you look closely, you can see that I added Glossy Accents to her eyes. I used an extra large Fiskars oval punch on the sentiment which is from TLC Creations. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby and is the perfect accent for this tag. Thanks for stopping by.

Here in the Midwest the weather has psyched us out again. Two weeks ago we were in the 80's but today we are only in the 30's. Right now it is snowing with rain and thunder and lightening! Is Spring here?? Don't worry the freebie from Sassy Studio Designs at Papercraft Planet will surely get you back into the warm weather mood. Today's image is "Chelsea w/chicks. Remember it's only available for 24 hrs so don't miss out.

I colored the image with colored pencils and OMS and paper pieced her dress.  Now that I've learned to paper piece, it has become a very important part of my crafting arsenal! I added embossing w/distressing and used a Nestabilities die cut. I used flowers and buttons from my stash along with CTMH ink. As always the finishing touch is the swirl bling. Isn't the background paper just perfect for Spring?  Thanks for stopping by.

Dare to be Sassy Thursday #117

It's that time again at Sassy Studio Designs. This week's challenge is "paper piecing." I had a great time making this card. I've never done a lot of paper piecing and couldn't find a good explanation on the web. In a nutshell, you print you image onto your paper...I used Neenah Solar white. Then I took a plain piece of computer paper and taped a small piece of my design paper in the area where the image would be printed. Finally, load that paper back into your printer and print the image again and voila`.

I'm giving my Copics pens a rest so I colored the hair, face, and arms with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Then I cut the outfit from the design paper and adhered it to the colored image. While I am giving the Copics a rest, I did use one to add some dimension the the outfit. The design papers are from DCWV "All about girls" stack. I used a doily, embossing folder and two Nestabilities die cuts to  add more texture and interest. The image is popped up with foam tape and try as I might, I just had to add swirl bling. The sentiment is from my favorite stamp set called "Classy and Fabulous" from "My Creative Time."

Sentiment Sundays Challenge #94

I hope everyone had a happy St. Patrick's day and are ready for another Sentimental Sundays challenge. This week's sponsor is KennyK and the challenge is metal. Using metal on your card will be the easy part. Picking out just one KennyK image is hard. He has so many wonderful images it's hard to settle for just one. I absolutely love his images.

For my card I chose "Rock Chick" from his "Glam Gang" collection. The "Glam Gang" is my absolute favorite.

I started with the background paper from DCWV's "Garden Party." The remaining papers are from DCWV's "Rock Star" pack. I've decided to give my Copic markers a little break and went with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS (odorless mineral spirits) instead. I added small accents with tiny bling and Stickles. The sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michaels and fits perfect with her rock star persona and the metal frame is from "Making Memories." I think this card will make someone a wonderful birthday card. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by Sentimental Sundays to see what the rest of the team has created.

The Corrosive Challenge 145 - Things are looking Grimm

Welcome to another Corrosive Challenge. This fortnight challenge is sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs. Create a project based on a fairy tale, fable, or children's story.

This card is roughly based on Goldilocks. I started with a center step base and used a Martha Stewart corner punch to highlight the corners of the metallicbackground paper. Next I raveled the edges a piece of gingham fabric and sewed in onto the center background paper. I stamped the Close To My Heart chair image onto a paper that was the exact opposite of what I would have normally used but really wanted the chair to stand out. In my mind I was thinking "this chair is just right." The sentiment is CTMH as well. A Nestabilities die really set the sentiment off. Finally I used foam dots, buttons and bling as the finishing touch.

Be sure to stop by the Corrosive Challenge to see what the rest of the DT has created.

Challenges entered:

Freebie Friday at Paper Craft Planet

TGIF! That's right, it's Friday and you know that means--Sassy Studio Designs puts up a fantastic freebie, at PCP. Don't miss it.

I know I'm aging myself but doesn't she just look like she having a "Calgon, take me away," moment! Every thing I used is from my stash. I started by printing two images.  On one image I stamped the design on the bathtub then colored it with Copics. Then I colored the head a legs and tub legs only on the other image. I cut the colored bathtub out and glued it to the other image. Finally I cut the image out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities as well as embossing, and also used the die as a stencil. A sewing student of mine gave me the lace as I knew it would be just perfect for this card. The ribbon, bling and swirl pearls really jazzed this card up. The greenery is make with a Martha Stewart punch and the rose was made with the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. Who doesn't like pink and black together?

Don't forgt to stop by PCP to pick up your freebie and to see what he rest of the DT created!

It's that time again - DTBST #116

Today is Thursday and time for another Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge at Sassy Studio Designs. Today challenge is "Monochromatic."

I love making tags! They require so little paper and can be completed in no time. This image is from SSD (naturally) and is called "Diamonds are a girls best friend." How true is that?? I colored the image w/Copics and really highlighted that the light source is extrmely bright on her left side. The "glittered circles" oval cut DP was from my stash of paper scraps. The sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC. I outlined both the sentiment and tag with faux stitching -- the tag w/a Gelly Roll pen,  the sentiment with a zig pen. As you can see I just had to add "diamonds." The final coup was the white ribbon w/black stitching. You never know when you're going to use something that has been in your stash for ages as this ribbon has been. BTW the tag was cut the the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. It's my favorite cartridge of all time!

Be sure to stop by SSD to see what the rest of the DT has made. As always thanks for stopping by!

Sentimental Sundays #92 - Go green or recycle

Today's challenge at Sentiment Sundays is "go green or recycle". We want to see your projects featuring the color green or using recycled materials. Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps.

Is this a fun card or what? I wanted there to be no mistaking that my focus for the challenge was the color green. The main background paper is one of my favorites from the "All Dressed Up" stack from DCWV. The rest of the papers are from my stash. I used paper piecing on the pajamas and Copics on the hair and face. Throw in a Nestabilities cut, a tag punch and ribbon and voila'. I also used this week's sketch from the the Sweet Stop for inspiration.

Don't forget to drop in at Sentimental Sundays to see what the rest of the DT has created and to enter your project for the challenge.

SSD Friday Freebie 2/9/2012

It's that time again. Be sure to stop by Sassy Studio Designs at Paper Craft Planet and pick up this amazing and never seen before freebie!

I started this card out with a center step base. Next I chose the background paper from DCWV "Stack 5." The image was colored w/Copics and cut with a Nestabilities die enhanced with some fussy cutting. I also used the die to emboss and inked (CTMH Clover Meadow) around the image w/a sponge. I added glitter glue to the beer foam and Glossy Accents to the beer mug to add additional texture and interest. I used the ribbon Nestabilities die to highlight the sentiment which is an Inkadinkadoo $1 stamp from Joanns. I found the charm in the jewelry making supplies at Joanns as well. I cute the shamrocks with the Cricut using glitter paper. Finally I used foam dots and bling as the finale. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

The layout is roughly based on the one  at Stamping 411 this week. The image was colored w/Copics. The papers are from my stash. Her bathing suit is paper pieced but unfortunately my digital signature is obscuring it...Sorry. I used the Martha Stewart "drippy goo" punch as well as a Fiskars small flower punch. The ribbon was from Michaels. The sentiment is Close To My Heart as well as the ink, while the embossed ribbon die cut is a Nestibilities. What card of mine would be complete without some bling?

Lucy Leprechaun

Be sure to stop over at Sassy Studio Designs on Paper Craft Planet and pick up the latest freebie. I had a great time making this card. "Why," you might ask. Well the obvious is that my last name is Green. My husband says that everything green is good. I think the card is VERY good. The challenge is to use a charm somewhere on your project.

I loosely followed a sketch. All the design papers are from my stash. The image was colored w/Copics and highlighted it with Gelly Roll pen and lots of Stickles. I used foam dots to pop up the image. Being the Diva that I am, I always feel compelled to use bling of some sort. The peridot bling is one of my favorites because it's my birthstone! The swirl was an afterthough but a good one. I used a Nestabilites ribbon die cut for the sentiment. The die cut is highlighted with embossing and ink. The sentiment is from one of those dollar stamps that I can't stop buying everytime I am in either a JoAnns or Michaels. The little clover charm adds yet another dimension. I'm all about dimension in my cards and this card has lots of it. Thanks for stopping by!
