Hope - Breast Cancer Awareness

We all know October is breast cancer awareness month. I am a 5-year survivor and I thank God everyday for giving me the strength to weather that storm. I come from a family of survivors including my mother, aunt and several cousins. One thing that I do every year is provide my oncologists office with cards to send to patients that are particularly need "pick-me-up." Hope is the one thing all cancer patients need. Why don't you commit to making at least one breast cancer awareness card this month?

My card was created using dies from Frantic Stamper, Inc. I started with a Kraft cardstock base and added a solid pink mat. Next I attached a raveled edge burlap piece and attached it with matching pink staples. Next using a small scrap and the Frantic Stamper Instant Photo 3 x 4 Photo Card die (FRA-Die-09148) also cut from Kraft cardstock, I attached it to the card base. Using the Small Hope and Ribbon die (FRA-Die-09216) and the Frantic Stamper Large Support Ribbon (FRA-Die- 09214) were the finishing touches!

Hope Trumps All

I hope everyone survived the Fourth of July fireworks and festivities. I managed to squeeze in a little time for crafting. The pop-up boxes are popping-up all over the internet and I just had to try my hand at it.

The image was a freebie from Saturated Canary. It was colored with copics and the flower highlight her hair is from Paper Studios. The design paper is from Me and My Big ideas. Using Frantic Stamper, Inc dies made it easier than ever to decorate! I used Cartoon Speech Bubbles (FRA-Die-09104) to cute out the sentiment. I also used Small Hope Ribbon set of 2 dies FRA-Die-09216) and finally Coved Labels for cutting out the image. The Hope Ribbon set is close to my heart because I am a breast cancer survivor and keep my oncologists office supplied with cards to send out to patients. There'll be many more of these boxes in my future!

Breast Cancer Awareness

This week at Sassy Studio Designs, Dare to be Sassy Thursday, the focus is on Breast Cancer Awareness. If you didn't already know, I am a two-year survivor. Two years ago I asked God to give me the strength to bear the burden of cancer and he answered my prayer. My husband says I don't realized how much of a toll cancer has had on me. What he doesn't understand is that God answered my prayer by carrying the burden for me!

Because I am a survivor I'm sure a lot of my creations this month will have a Breast Cancer Awareness theme. Why not create a card for a survivor or someone currently battling the disease??

This card is 6 x 6 and is a change for me. Most the cards I create are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The image is a Sassy Studio Design colored w/Copics. The large pink ribbon was cut with the Cricut and comes from the Stand and Salute cartridge. The edge punch is Martha Stewart while the sentiment is from a scrapbook page kit. The flowers are from 3Birds and the embossing plate is from Fiskars. As always I just had to add Stickles and bling as the finishing touch.
