It's Monday and you know what that means...another Digi Darla's Challenge. This week the challenge is "Anything w/Wheels." Be sure to stop by the blog to see the wonderful creations by the rest of the design team.
I love the opportunity to make a masculine card and when I saw this image I knew I had to use. The image is called "Antique Truck." I colored it with Prismacolor pencils w/OMS. The base of the card is Kraft cardstock. I love that stuff! I used an oval Spellbinders Nestabilities die-cut and cut the tool box from the Cricut "Father's Day" cartridge. The "steering wheel" is a metal gear from "7 gypsies." I added some Tim Holtz distress ink to the cricut cut as well as around the sentiment. The sentiment is one of my husband's favorites and I couldn't resist using it. Although it's a masculine card I was able to incorporate some bling into it by using it on the headlights. I also used a glitter pen to accent some of the "chrome." The plaid background paper is from the DCWV "Natural" stack. I added brads as a finishing touch. While I seldom incorporate them in my designs, I find that I especially like them on masculine card. My husband gave this card a big "thumbs up." I hope you do too.
Don't forget to stop by Digi Dara's Challenge blog to check out the other design team members creations.
