Happy Birthday Diva

I made this card for a friend's birthday. This image is from KennyK and was colored with Copics. I started with an A2 Kraft cardstock base. Next I added the zebra print paper from the Paper Studio. I embossed and matted the solid black and adhered it to the zebra print. The image was attached using 1/4" foam squares. In keeping with my effort to incorporate more Cricut cuts in my cardmaking, the roses are from the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge and the leaves were made with a the Martha Stewart rose leaf punch. I sprayed both with glimmermist. Lastly, I added Recollections swirl bling from Michaels, Tim Holtz's Ideology Film Strip Ribbon, and Stickles. The sentiment was printed from my computer and punched with a Fiskars extra-large oval punch.

Sassy Shaker

I haven't made a shaker card in a while and decided this would be an opportune time. I started with a Sassy Studio Design "Santa's Helper." The image was colored w/Copics and highlighted w/bling and Stickles. I used Lacey Oval and Simple Oval Nestibilites dies to cut the actual shaker. Next I applied 1/4 inch foam tape around the oval cut image and added glitter tinsel inside of the trough made by the foam tape. I recycled a piece of the packaging from a Cricut deep cut blade and used it to create the window portion of the card. I applied the window to the Lacey Oval and then applied it to the foam tape, lining the Lacey Oval with the foam tape. I printed the sentiment and cut and embossed it with the ribbon Nestabilites die. I inked it with Tim Holtz distress ink in Red Barn and Close to My Heart ink also in Red Barn. Finally I used the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the holly leaves. The leaves were inked with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress ink. I used a paper punch to punch the red foil "berries." I used liquid pearls to highlight the lacey oval to give it some extra "umph."

Hope you are enjoying the SSD blog hop so far. You should have arrived here from Kim's blog. The design team has created awesome projects so make sure you visit everybody's blog and leave comment to be in the running to win some or all of the Holiday releases!

This is Victorian Sassy. I wanted to create a scene with mystery and intrigue. I started with a 5 x 7 base and added the red mat. The black and cream background paper is a flocked damask design. The castle and the light post were cut with the Cricut. The light post was highlight with Glossy Accents. The image was colored with Copics and trimmed. The image was then attached to the red cardstock and trimmed to be consistent with the other images. The pin dot circle was added to add additional depth. The three roses were cut with the Cricut Art Philosphy Cartridge while the greenery was made with a punch from my stash.

The next question on the hop is:

What do the 6 geese symbolize?

Still working the polka dots

For some reason I can't seem to get away from the the black and white polka dot cardstock. This simple card measures 5 x 7 and features a KennyK image. The image was colored with Copics and Prismacolor markers. The car was cut with the Cricut using the "Cars" cartridge. I used glitter paper as the bottom layer of the car to give the illusion of chrome and glass. I used black bling in all four corners and cut the sentiment with a Spellbinders Ribbon die. The sentiment was in my stash. The inside says "to celebrate your day."

Dare to Be Sassy Thursday

Today is Dare To Be Sassy Thursday at Sassy Studio Designs. The challenge this week is to create a card or project with leaves on it.

This image is "Fall Fun." I colored the image w/Copics. The base card is 5 x 7 and made of Kraft card stock with corners rounded with a Crop-A-Dial Corner Chomper. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz "Vintage Photo" Distress Ink. The first mat is cut from brown linen cardstock while the second mat was cut with olive-colored white-core paper. Both mats corners were rounded with the Corner Chomper.

I used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss the white-core cardstock and sanded it to highlight the design. After matting the image I used pop dots to add dimension and remembered this ribbon marinating in my stash. Aren't the colors perfect? I highlighted the leaves with Stickles and glitter glue and just a few pieces of bling.
